Subjects offered by the Institute of Helicopter Technology

The lectures offered by the Institute of Helicopter Technology allow students to gain insight into the physical phenomena of helicopter flight and the interaction of the various subsystems. The dynamics, aerodynamics and flight mechanics of rotorcraft are taught, to enable systems-oriented design approaches that are necessary for the development of state-of-the-art helicopters. Special approaches used in the aviation industry and within systems engineering are covered, allowing for an iterative development process from the preliminary draft to the finished product.

Current information about the corona pandemic

All lectures will be migrated to an e-learning platform to ensure teaching in the upcoming semester. In addition, the master modules "Helicopter Flight Dynamics" and "Rotorcraft Engineering: Preliminary Design" will be offered in this summer semester, which usually are only offered in the winter semester.

Registration happens as usual via TUMonline. Due to registration, you also get access to the respective Moodle course. Here, all learning materials will be povided regularly. Specific information about certain lectures will be published on TUMOnline or the subpages linked in the following. In case of further questions please feel free to contact the corresponding advisors.
